Zack Dill
Description: He is small, standing only 4'3" and looking decidedly undernourished. His hair is black and worn in a style best described as 'every folicle for itself'. His eyes are grey, but can appear anywhere from slate blue to violet depending on the lighting. His nose is a bit over-long and narrow for his face, but not remarkably so.

Personality: Zack is quite intelligent, if a little odd. He enjoys homework and outsmarting his brother. In fact, he enjoyed homework so much that just doing his own wasn't nearly enough for him. So he sold his skills in that area in the neighborhood black market. By the time he began at Sonora, he had a pretty solid customer base and converted most of his normal bullies into dedicated clients.

When he's not doing homework, which is pretty much only during the summer (though with a lot of his customers in summer school, his business does not dry up entirely), he also does a lot of reading, particularly sci-fi and fantasy books. He is particularly into Star Trek and Tolkien, and can speak and write in intermediate level Klingon and Elvish. Other favourites include Star Wars, Babylon 5, and Douglas Adams. He also plays Magic: The Gathering.

He is not particularly outgoing, and will more often then not keep to himself rather to seek out company. However, this does not mean he is shy. He isn't. When he has something to say, he'll say it, without worrying about putting it diplomatically - unless, of course, he fears sparking violence against himself, in which case he will tread very delicately indeed.

While he is not, quite, a coward, he does have a healthy sense of caution, and knows that he will lose any physical fight he gets involved with. So he does his best not to get involved with them.

History: Zack is from an entirely non-magical family. The first eleven years of his life he did not know a magical world existed outside of fiction. His first and only experience with magic prior to Sonora was an incident when he was eight, where he suddenly was not inside the locked closet that he'd been trying to escape from for five minutes.

He lives with his mother, father, and brother. His mom is a part-time check-out clerk at a grocery store and his dad pumps gas part-time. They live in a tiny two-bedroom apartment in a bad section of Detroit. His brother, Nick, is a year younger than Zack but already a foot taller. The family is very poor and subsides a great deal on welfare and food stamps.

Zack, understandably, jumped at the chance to get away and attend a private school, even if it does teach weird subjects like Charms instead of normal ones Calculus.
