There is nothing about Stephen's appearance that really catches the attention. His height is average, his hair a dull shade of brown, his eyes a nondescript brown and his face is liberally covered with prominant freckles. That is unless he is being his general overexcited animated self. When this happens (which is most of the time) his face is highly animated and he is prone to large exaggerated gestures to illustrate whatever it is he is talking about. |

Stephen is interested in pretty much everything, and while
he is intrigued can remain engrossed for hours - days if necessary. He can also switch from subject to subject with surprising swiftness. While no genius, he is a reasonable student who puts some effort into all his classes (when he isn't bored), enjoys many different activities from reading (adventure and action stories, and motorcycle magazines) to sport (plays a variety of different ball games, and thus has really good ball handling skills) to clowning around. He can be loud, is talkative and has no problem with being the centre of attention. |

Stephen comes from an essentially non-magical background, but is not Muggleborn. His Mother is a Squib, and was thrown out of a prominent pureblood family to 'preserve the family reputation'. He is, as yet, unaware of this (she never even told his Dad) although he did notice that she seemed quite wound up about something when he got his letter. Stephen really looks up to his older brother Alan. Alan is six years older than Stephen, completely without magic, and dropped out of school at the age of sixteen when he managed to secure an apprenticeship as a mechanic. Alan, as far as Stephen is concerned, can do pretty much anything, except magic. Alan is really into extreme sports and Stephen looking forward to the time when he's old enough for his parents to stop objecting to his wanting to join in with the fun. |
