| Connor Pierce | |
| Description: |
Appearance:He's tall, but not awkward-looking or gangling. He has dark red hair, dark gray eyes, and ordinary features. Some say he often has a look that suggests he's summing a person up and refusing to tell what the scales say. |
| Personality: |
Connor can confuse people until they're used to him. Not many guys read King Arthur with their younger sisters, play football, and enjoy both. He's always been a loner, largely due to his belief he can't carry on a conversation without sounding like an idiot, but he's trying to make friends and talk more at Sonora. While not normally agressive, Connor will beat the tar out of anyone who a)messes with his little sister Beverly, b)speaks of his dead father without respect, c)tries to hit him first, or d) has pushed him to the limit of endurance with insults/snobbery/etc. He is very loyal to his friends. Losing his father at seven made him look on the world as an unstable place with no security in it. The string of events that followed only reinforced this opinion. He constantly readies himself to be disappointed again and again. He may seem a little abstracted from conversations because of this habit. He has a sense of humor, but it rarely comes out in the presence of girls. Around anything female, he becomes very rigidly polite, even referring to girls as 'Miss' until given permission not to. It's a real accomplishment for the girl if she can get him to relax enough to laugh. Although he doesn't seem like the type at first glance, he has a fatal attraction to trouble and a inclination for risk-taking. He usually escapes being caught by the skin of his teeth, which he considers to be the part of it that's the most fun. Pranks aren't his area of specialty, but he can pull one off. |
| History: |
Connor is the third of four children and the second boy. He and his younger sister Beverly are barely a year apart, but the gap between them and the older pair of Khrissy and Paul and between Khrissy and Paul themselves are more substantial. People began assuming he and Beverly were twins due to their unusual closeness by the time he was three. His Texas Ranger of a father and ex-cop of a mother attempted to bring all four of their children up to be normal, productive citizens and might have succeeded if Mr. Pierce hadn't died in the line of duty when Connor was seven. Mrs. Pierce devoted herself to the running of their ranch after his death, leaving her children to run wild if they wanted. That ended when, little more than a year after Mr. Pierce died, Beverly was diagnosed with leukemia. Mrs. Pierce believed that Beverly was going to die and that it was her punishment for allowing herself to wallow in grief, leading to her becoming obsessively overprotective of Khrissy, Paul, and Connor. Connor was the only member of the family who ever knew that Beverly also believed she was a goner, because he was the only one who could bring himself to stay with her for any length of time. While she did recover, Beverly became a source of constant worry for Connor. As a bit of a dreamer in a family of down-to-earth cops, Connor, along with Beverly, was always looked at askance by his mother and older siblings. They good-naturedly put up with him, though, until his Sonora letter arrived. At that point, Khrissy started completely ignoring Connor without ever explaining herself, and Paul would only say, "little brother, you've finally gotten too wierd", before following in Khrissy's footsteps. Mrs. Pierce tried to hide it,but Connor was perceptive enough to realize that she was always half-certain he was going to blow up the house or something similar. Since he left, his name has not been mentioned among his immediate family. |
| Fear: |
His greatest fear is that one day Beverly will come out of remission and die. If that happenes, Connor doesn't believe he'll be able to handle it. |
| Desire: |
Although he would sooner die than admit it, he wants to save at least one damsel in distress before he dies. |
| Other Info: |
